Volunteer Committee Descriptions
 
18th Green Hospitality: To manage the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Hospitality facilities with “110% customer satisfaction approach.” The main responsibility of this committee is the constant and consistent satisfaction of our hospitality patrons and sponsors through customer service. Volunteers will assist corporate sponsors in hospitality areas by checking proper credentials, meet and greet, oversee general flow and provide information and customer service to corporate guests. Volunteers will also assist in the general upkeep and appearance of the facility.  Assignments may also include Champions Club, The Hill, and Military Appreciation. Wednesday through Sunday shifts only.
 
Ambassadors: Volunteers will act as greeters and welcome general spectators and corporate clients to the tournament and to provide directory assistance and general information to spectators such as restroom locations, concessions, lost and found and corporate hospitality locations.
 
Champions Club: To manage the day-to-day operations of the M Life Lounge with “110% customer satisfaction approach.” The main responsibility of this committee is the constant and consistent satisfaction of our hospitality patrons and sponsors through customer service. Volunteers will assist corporate sponsors in hospitality areas by checking proper credentials, meet and greet, oversee general flow and provide information and customer service to corporate guests. Volunteers will also assist in the general upkeep and appearance of the facility. Assignments may also include 18th Green Hospitality, The Hill, and Military Appreciation. Wednesday through Sunday shifts only.
 
Disabled Guest Services: To provide cart transportation for disabled spectators to and from the main entrance to designated areas on the golf course.
 
Golf Carts: Volunteers will manage inventory, distribution and collection of golf carts during tournament week. Assist in the management of overall cart procedures and plan as designated by tournament office. Shifts prior to tournament week are also available.
 
Honorary Observers: To assist in registering our Sponsors guests that has been granted access “behind the ropes.” Volunteers will escort the Honorary Observer to the appropriate tee in a timely fashion and communicate all the relevant rules associated with the program. Thursday through Sunday shifts only.
 
Laser Reporters: Volunteers will record distances using laser equipment stationed behind greens or in fairways. Information is relayed to Scoring Trailer with a hand held computer. Training is provided. Thursday through Sunday shifts only.
 
Marshals: Volunteers will assist Tournament Security and help manage the flow of spectators during Tournament to ensure continuity of play, gallery safety and the safety of the PGA TOUR professionals. Volunteers ensure that players are not disturbed during play and enforce golf etiquette and security amongst the spectators. Volunteers are responsible for keeping spectators behind the ropes and players and officials inside the ropes. They are stationed at each tee, landing areas, putting greens and crossovers. Training is provided.
 
Mobile Device Task Force: The Mobile Device Task Force will be comprised of a group of volunteers who will implement the new Mobile Device Policies set forth by the PGA TOUR. Volunteers will walk the golf course or be stationed in certain areas reminding spectators to please use their mobile devices in specified locations. Devices may include cell phones, cameras, video cameras and PDA’s. They will be working in conjunction with the Marshals as well as on site security. Each volunteer will need to attend a scheduled training session.
 
Player Transportation:  Volunteers meet and greet Professional Players, PGA TOUR officials and VIP guests at airport and transport them to hotels and golf course. Volunteers will be on call during Tournament week to transport players, officials and guests to various locations. Must be over 25 years old and have a license in good standing. Shifts begin on Friday prior to Tournament Week.
 
Practice Range: To assist in setting up the practice facility and keeping each station supplied with golf balls and tees. Assist the club staff with the cleaning, sorting and picking of range balls. Volunteers will also monitor and enforce access to practice areas to authorized persons only (players, caddies, approved media and vendors).
 
Professional Caddie Services: To assist the Caddie Master with caddie registration for all professional caddies, issuing and collecting caddie bibs and any other general needs of the professional and amateur caddies. Volunteers will also assist in the general upkeep and appearance of the Caddie Tent.
 
Pro Am: Volunteers will be asked to assist amateurs and professionals to ensure that they have the best experience possible. There are 2 Pro Ams during the event, and volunteers will be involved in many aspects of player and caddie registration. Volunteers are also needed prior to tournament week for the packing and assembling of gift packages. Monday and Wednesday shifts only. Assignments may also include Honorary Observers and Special Events.
 
Public Safety Appreciation Station: Formerly known as Military Appreciation. Volunteers will assist with greeting and welcoming guests. They will also ensure that all persons entering this facility have the proper credentials. Volunteers will also assist in the general upkeep and appearance of the facility. Wednesday through Sunday shifts only.
 
Shuttles & Parking: To operate and control proper access and flow to all parking areas. Supervise organization that staffs the parking lots to make sure plans are being followed and traffic is flowing properly. Assist with informing spectators of prohibited items list.   Maintain informational rider log.  Shifts begin on Sunday prior to Tournament week.
 
Special Events: To support the execution of all major Tournament social functions, both off-season and during Tournament week. Events may include Pro-Am pairings party, volunteer party and all post-round parties at The Hill. Support roles will include sponsor and spectator meet and greets, on-site registration management, set up of parties and functions and general customer service. Assignments may also include Honorary Observers and Pro Am committees.
 
Standard Bearers:   To accompany each group of professionals during play and display their scores in relation to par on a cumulative basis. You must be able to walk all 18 holes and carry a standard (weight approximately 5 to 7 pounds.) Young adults, ages 13- 18, may volunteer for this committee on approval of committee chairman. Please contact the committee chairman for further information.
  
Supply Distribution: To assist in the distribution of all tournament materials during Tournament week and weeks leading up to event. Volunteer will assist in the receipt and distribution of spectator information and incoming materials for the players or caddies.   In addition must maintain and distribute supplies, refreshments and water for players, caddies and volunteers during the Tournament. SOME HEAVY LIFTING IS REQUIRED. Shifts prior to tournament week also available.
 
Tech Check: To check in and log prohibited items at the admissions gate.
 
The Hill:  Volunteers will assist with greeting and welcoming guests. They will also ensure that all persons entering this facility have the proper credentials. Volunteers will also assist in the general upkeep and appearance of the facility.  Assignments may also include Champions Club, 18th Green Hospitality, and Military Appreciation. Wednesday through Sunday shifts only.
 
Ticket Sales: To sell tickets at the gate to spectators and provide general information. Assist security with checking spectator credentials. Money handling experience preferred.
 
TV Committee: To assist the Golf Channel. MUST have the physical ability to walk 18 holes and have some knowledge of golf etiquette and scoring. Training is provided. Thursday through Sunday shifts only.
 
Uniform Distribution: To inventory and distribute volunteer apparel and credentials. Duties will include the management of uniform distribution area, apparel exchanges, sale and returns. Volunteers are also needed prior to tournament week to assist in inventory, preparation and distribution.
 
Volunteer Hospitality: To keep the Volunteer Hospitality Center open and available to all volunteers during Tournament week. Ensure beverages and food items are available for uniformed volunteers working each day. Volunteers with work closely with the Supply Distribution Committee to make sure that the Volunteer Hospitality Center is stocked at all times with appropriate materials and supplies. Volunteers will assist in the general upkeep and appearance of the Volunteer Hospitality Center.
 
Walking Scorers: To accompany each group of players and input scores and statistics into a PGA TOUR supplied hand held computer. All scorers will also be equipped with radios to communicate with the TOUR scoring truck. Shifts are approximately 5 hours and each volunteer will be given a tee time. It is essential to have knowledge of golf and be in good physical condition with the ability to walk 18 holes at a pace to keep up with the players. VERY ACTIVE DUTY. Wednesday through Sunday shifts only.
 
Will Call: To organize and manage the pickup location for credentials during tournament week. Assist with sorting and distribution of credentials at gate.
